The process of die casting is used to produce die-cast parts in a skilfully arranged manner with the technique of applying high pressure on molten metal so that it enters the pre-designed molds made from high-grade steels. Through this procedure can easily produce all possible sizes and shapes. It often gets rid of machining operations by manufacturing castings with close tolerances. Depending on the die casting application there can be many die casting processes, and one of them is aluminium die casting.

When the aluminium or aluminium alloys are liquefied applying high pressure to construct, custom, defined, and smooth defined textured-surface parts of a particular shape, such process is known as aluminium dies casting. There are two processes to execute this method, either by a hot chamber or cold chamber procedure, as aluminium has a high melting point of 1150 degrees Fahrenheit, that’s why the cold chamber process is more common than the hot chamber. The aluminium die casting process becomes relatively easier because of the use of steel molds to produce enormous amounts of castings expeditiously.

The process of aluminium die casting is done in four specific steps, which are as follows:-

  1. The aluminium is liquefied through the high-pressure technique.
  2. Two die casting halves are clutched tightly together with a casting die press, this process is also known as the casting cycle.
  3. Then the molten aluminium is injected into the hollow cavity of the mold.
  4. Lastly, when it solidifies and takes the form of the shape, for the casting to eject the die halves have to be drawn apart.

Utilization of aluminium die casting

Features present in aluminium die casting alloys is that it is lightweight, corrosion resistance and it also possesses an excessive capacity of electrical and thermal conductivity. Based on these characteristics it is used in many different places, such as replacing iron and steel parts of the vehicle, building partition, and many more.

Benefits of using Aluminium die castings

Aluminum is considered one of the most familiar non-ferrous die-casting metals all over the globe, hence it is opted by many manufacturers.

The following are the benefits for opting for aluminium die casting:-

  • Economically affordable
  • Possess the quality of being Corrosion-resistant
  • Carries excess potentiality
  • Gives a high level of precision
  • Long-lasting
  • Weighs extremely less
  • Delivers a perfect flawless finishing

One should always choose the right aluminium material, which is used for the die casting process. The most ordinary or regular aluminium alloy used is A380 and A383, but all boils down to one’s needs and the requirements in the project, because of which one should always consult the supplier. This is also the process of working for the aluminium die casting company in Malaysia.
